Equip farmers with skills and tools to adapt to climate change and adopt sustainable farming practices.
Agriculture is the backbone of Uganda’s economy, employing over 70% of the population and contributing 24% to GDP. However, climate change has disrupted this vital sector through prolonged droughts, erratic rainfall, and floods, reducing crop yields and livestock productivity.
Smallholder farmers, who rely on rain-fed agriculture, face food insecurity and income losses, while communities experience increased financial and food poverty, and migration.
These challenges threaten Uganda’s economy, which heavily depends on agricultural exports like coffee. Without climate adaptation strategies, the livelihoods of millions and the country’s economic stability remain at significant risk.
